In 2014, Duppong learned she had colon cancer, and died a year later, at age 31. By many accounts, she was infectiously joyful, generous, and a big fan of the Lord of the Rings series. ĭuppong was a FOCUS missionary serving on college campuses, and then became the director of adult faith formation in the Bismarck diocese. The bishop of Bismarck, North Dakota opened last week the cause for canonization of Michelle Duppong, a North Dakota Catholic woman who died on Christmas Day, 2015.
